CEF Globally
In the late 1930s, J. Irvin Overholtzer visited Hamilton, Ontario, and shared his passion for reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One man’s vision ignited the hearts of individuals across Ontario. Through the ministry of Jesse Overholtzer, the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship* Inc. began. Today this ministry is established in 156 countries, "helping you evangelize children." The International headquarters of CEF is in Warrenton, Missouri, and the National office for CEF Canada is in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Today there more than 2500 full time staff around the world.
CEF in Ontario
Sixty years later, CEFOntario has grown to a point where we rejoice over our heritage. We have staff across the province, working in close cooperation with local churches, touching the lives of many thousands of children each year.
CEF Staff
All of the individuals on our staff have come to us because of a love for children and a desire to see them come to know and understand the love of Jesus Christ.
CEF Training
Mr. O's vision of training Christians to minister to children has been realized. Through the ministry of CEF* Inc. approximately 250,000 individuals have been trained around the world. In Ontario, our trained staff and volunteers conduct training seminars, which will enable Christians to strengthen their ministry to children in their communities and local churches. Our staff and many of our volunteers have been trained at one of CEF’s 19 Children's Ministries Institute*.
CEF Curriculum
Through the international ministry of CEF* Inc. we are able to teach the children using curriculum published predominately by CEF Press*, a division of CEF* Inc. This Bible-based, Christ-centered curriculum is interdenominational and has been carefully reviewed by a team of Biblical and theological scholars. CEF Press* curriculum is used in many churches and Sunday Schools across Canada and throughout the world.
