THE RTH JOURNAL

What is The RTH Journal.

It stands for Reach Tomorrow’s Hereos. It’s a theme here at CEFOntario.

We write and record what God places on our hearts to share with our visitors of this site.

You’ll find things that make you laugh, cry and may even challenge you at times.
Everything we put on this site comes from a place of love and helping reach kids with the gospel.

FEATURED STORY

THE PURPOSE
OF PRAYER

It could easily be said that Christian ministry is, or at
least should be, driven by prayer. It seems fitting,
then, that the first post on our blog is about prayer.
But does prayeractually make a difference? If God
already knows what we need, why do we need to
tell Him? If He is sovereign, why does prayer matter?

Lessons from an Easter Egg Hunt

Lessons from an Easter Egg Hunt I know Easter egg hunts aren’t exactly the “Christian” part of Easter, but have you ever thought about how much they reflect our relationship with our heavenly Father? The parent scatters different Easter eggs around the house for the child to find – our heavenly Father intentionally places “eggs” throughout our lives that reflect Him and His goodness to us. When the child finds an Easter egg she wants to look for more – when we discover a glimpse of our heavenly Father we want more. Sometimes, during the hunt, the child can’t help

She Put Herself Out There

Communion cups were being handed out on the way into the sanctuary on communion Sunday.   Just before we were going to partake in communion the pastor asked anyone without a communion cup to raise their hands so they could be given one.  Two older boys, brothers, sitting in front of us realized one of them didn’t have one. They were way busier crawling around on the floor

They were way busier crawling around on the floor Last summer I was a 5-Day Club leader at my church. Even though it was a small club, the boys were quite unruly.  Faithfully, the summer missionaries continued to teach the Bible lessons, memory verses and missionary story despite their disruptions.   There were two boys, who did not look like they were paying attention at all. They were way busier crawling around on the floor or yelling to be heard over the summer missionaries.  On the Wednesday of the club, the girls asked if anyone knew the memory verse from

The Greatest of These

The Greatest of These We’ve gone through the ten commandments, looking at how they give direction to living a life that’s pleasing to God. We saw that we tend to put more weight on some commandments than others. We view some as vital (do not murder) and others as somewhat negotiable (do not lie). But how does God, who gave them to us in the first place, view these commandments? Does God see some as more important than others? The Pharisees wondered the same thing. Or rather, they wanted to trick Jesus by asking Him what they thought was
