He even provides avocados!
This week we are blessed with a life lesson from Abigail Morton,
a former CEF intern.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will Your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him. Matthew 7:11 NLT
The pandemic brought a lot of changes, the biggest one for me being that I moved back in with my parents to finish school. This has been a huge blessing, because not only do I appreciate the company (and the food!), but having lost my job, I no longer had the funds to pay for room and board.
A friend and I talked about renting an apartment together, but it quickly became clear that it was not a particularly wise choice. But a few weeks ago she told me that her Aunt and Uncle wanted her to house sit for three weeks, and I was invited to come along. It felt like God was providing this wonderful thing that I had wanted, but hadn’t even thought to ask for!
Since then I have seen so many other ways that God has been blessing me. I was writing a shopping list for the week, and I added a “wish list” of things that I couldn’t afford, but would like to get at some point. It was crazy how God provided those items specifically, from my room-mate buying avocados on sale to her aunt and uncle leaving us Kalamata olives that they wanted to be used up.
These are just little things, and I didn’t consider them important enough to pray about, but it has been so neat to see how God cares even about the details in my life.
Sometimes I struggle to trust that God will provide my needs, but things like this remind me of how stupid that fear really is. If God cares about the little things in my life, of course He cares about the big things! So hopefully the next time I am feeling that fear, I can remember all of the ways that God has provided for me, and that will give me hope that He will continue to provide for me in the future.
